Description A stylish and unusual Amphora tea kettle decorated with a panel of Macintosh style Glasgow roses. Charles Rennie Macintosh's work was shown at the Vienna Secession Exhibition in 1900, and he was much appreciated in Germany and Austria as a result, far more than in his homeland. His influence is clearly reflected in this Austrian piece which fuses Secessionist and Glasgow style. Please study the photographs, they form part of the description. Size 17 cm tall Marks Marked to base as shown with impressed AUSTRIA and AMPHORA in oval cartouches, also an impressed crown and numerals which might be 3998 and 40, but I'm not sure. Black-painted mark as shown. Condition Excellent undamaged condition. Open, clean crazing. Occasional wear, not excessive.
