AMR Models from France, 1979 Ferrari 512 Cloud Car LeMans in a 1/43rd scale model car KIT. This is a tough one to explain. To being, this is the legendary AMR Ruf Ferrari 512LM, the one with the opening front and rear, fully engine and suspension detail, cockpit, the works. Ruf's masterpiece, and the one he credits as the begining of his downfall. For many, this is one of the Holy Grails for AMR collectors. This kit was started by one of the most talented builders I have had the pleasure to know in over 35 years in the model car business, Mr. Doug Peterson. He is an award winning modeler. A true renaissance man, who excels in anything he attempts. Doug retired from modeling to persure other endevours, leaving this kit, which he was building for me, partially built. The parts shown in the photos are the parts he has worked on: FLAWLESS paint and decals, HINGED DOORS (the kit did not have seperate, hinged doors), all clear coated. Truly, one of the finest paints jobs I have ever seen. The painting was performed over 15 years ago, so it is rock hard and fully cured. Not a wrinkle to be seen; an indication of the quality of Doug's artistry. All the other parts are included in the kit. Some have been filed and shaped, many still untouched.
