is an excellent copy of Ronald Reagan's autobiography, "An American Life." This book is signed by the former president and numbered "179 of a limited 2,000 copies". This is the same book that is going for over $1,500 on other sites! Again, it is a very nice book, no damage of any kind, but was used in the reference section of a Detroit Public Library branch and has the relevant markings. I took photos to show them, which are stamps that read "RELEASED BY THE DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY," and the address of the library, as well as a security tag. If you are looking for an authentic book signed by Ronald Reagan, this is it! We have priced the book to reflect it's library history, at approximately one-tenth of what these books are going for without the markings. Insurance is included in the price! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We try to represent our items fairly and accurately. Although we don't accept Paypal, credit card payments are gladly taken over the phone. Thank you for viewing our auction! I would like to clarify, for those who have asked, about the markings. I'm sorry not to know the proper "lingo" regarding the names of various pages but I will try my best to describe them. The book is in pristine condition other than the markings I mentioned. T are NO other issues. No stains, tears, folded pages, or pencil markings. The gold page edges are in very, very good to excellent condition - still very shiny, no warping, a few tiny scratches but the gold remains intact (you must hold the book up to the light and turn it to see). T is a stamp that says RELEASED BY THE DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY on the blue marbled page that follows the inside front cover. The stamps that read RELEASED BY THE DETROIT PUBLIC LIBRARY and give the library address, as well as the security tag and a small stamp that reads MAR 16 2004 are all on the opposite side of the page that gives the publisher's information, ISBN number, etc. Reagan's signature and the line that reads "This is number 179 oif a limited edition of 2000 copies" is on a page by itself, which has no library markings. The back of the book has no markings whatsoever. Again, this was a reference book, not a circulating book, so IT NEVER LEFT OUR LIBRARY. I appreciate the interest shown in this book, and we really REALLY try to be fair (I think our feedback comments are testimony to this). Thanks to everyone who has shown interest in this book!
