Up for auction is an oil lamp in the Early American Prescut pattern. This lamp stands about 18 1/2" high including the shade. Without the shade the lamp is about 10 1/2" high including the burner. This lamp is in good condition, it is not perfect. The shade has no chips or cracks, but it does have some scratches. Also on the white design t is a little spot w it is a little brown, I guess this got burned a little bit. This is minor, you would have to look closely to see it. The burner is in fair condition. It is very tarnished, it would need a good cleaning. I think if it was cleaned it would look better, but I do not think it will ever be perfect. The knob on the burner says P. & A. MFG Co., THOMASTON, CONN., MADE IN USA. The top part of the lamp has bubbles in the glass, this is a manufacturing flaw. The bottom part of the lamp also has some flaws in the glass, t are some lines. The inside bottom rim of the glass has rough spots. They look like chips, but I do not think that they are because they are no jagged edges. I think this is another factory flaw. This cannot be seen unless you turn the lamp upside down. This lamp almost looks like it would be a factory second. This lamp is not perfect, but it still looks nice.
