We invite you to Browse our Immediate Shipping! Castle Gates proudly presents this rare and unique: RARE Ancient Medieval Silver, Gold, Garnet Crusader's Cross Pendant ! This auction shall begin at $.01, as we are confident collectors will appreciate the value of this unique and rare item. You are bidding on a rare Medieval to Byzantine Era Silver and Gold Cross Pendant centered with a Cabochon Garnet! This rare ancient piece is reminiscent of the Maltese Cross during the center of the second Medieval Crusades. This rare gem was likely worn by a prominent, wealthy person, as it is quite the detailed and stunning piece of ancient art. This beautiful rarity is embellished with roped gold on the face of the cross in a Byzantine fashion, centered with a set cabochon Garnet. Through the arms of the cross, four silver rivets attach it to a pure silver embossed pattern disc backed by two intact suspension loops. Ancient crosses were important to individuals as an identity symbol when the Byzantine Conflicts began to fuel the Medieval Crusades. This cross was discovered long ago and added to the Francis LeBaron collection in France. This rare antiquity is in good condition. We are unsure if repairs were made to the suspension loops on the back, and if so, what period this was accomplished. It has been sitting in storage for quite some time and was quite tarnished, indeed (see last photo). It has received a cursory cleaning to reveal its original lustre. This fine piece of ancient Medieval art will be a stunning addition to your collection. Both loops are intact, so it is readily wearable today just as it was during the Medieval Crusades. It is unfortunate that the "popular" jewellery of today is manufactured by production lines with no significance or importance. All too many jewellers of today suffer with such a lack of imagination forgetting that soulful individuals will accent their lives with their jewellery for many years. This unique Medieval cross is an ancient window into the past. Guaranteed Authenticity! This item is guaranteed to be authentic and as described. We are honest sellers who stand by our guarantee with a 100% refund. We believe in a fair (and enjoyable) auction experience. This will be a wonderful, unique addition to your collection, as it is quite the detailed and embellished piece! Item: Medieval Gold and Silver Cross Pendant Size: 3cm Provenance: The Francis LeBaron Collection, France Material: Silver, Gold, Cabochon Garnet Weight: 8.63g Period: 1200AD-1450AD Culture: Medieval Condition: Restored by polishing, possible restoration to suspension loops (time period unknown) Wearable today just as it was in ancient Medieval times!
