"The Harbour", circle of Andreas Krystallis Oil painting on canvas measuring: 19.5 by 23.5 inchesunframed Great quality mid 20th century oil painting on canvas, showing a warm harbour scene. Old fishing boats join old buildings and it is a stunning painting indeed. The work is unsigned but I have shown it to a fellow member of the art trade who suggested the work might be by the Greek artist Andreas Krystallis (1901-1951). From the little research I have been able to undertake through the net, I can see why he has put forward that attribution and I share his opinion. As mentioned, the work is not signed and has no provenance linking it to Krystallis - as such it is rightly offered as "circle of Andreas Krystallis", as this is just our opinion and others may have different ones. That being said, it is a stunning work and clearly by the hand of an incredibly accomplished artist. The painting is in good condition with no signs of restoration or repair. There are a few natural age scuffs and marks to the canvas but generally speaking it is very good for its age. It really does exude warmth and its bright, bold colours bring alive the room.
