* Buy a beautiful original limited edition print. This artwork is an original limited edition print made by myself. I use traditional etching and printing techniques to make all my works and this one is a favourite technique called drypoint . Drypoint prints are a purely drawing based printing technique where sharp tools are used to scratch into in this case an aluminium plate. This type of printing plate wears out relatively quickly so drypoints have small editions and are known for being particularly rich and dynamic. The artwork is entitled "Animalcules" and is one of many other-worldly, strange images I've made over years which reflect my love of old encyclopaedic imagery and nature . The print shows my own imaginary micro-organisms or Animalcules rather in the style of the wonderful Ernst Haeckel and is fantastically detailed like a lot of my work. This pri nt is numbered 6 out of an edition of 25. It is signed and dated (19)97 and is printed in a delicate dark grey ink on top quality off-white p rintmaking paper. The image measures 218 x 160 mm on a piece of paper 348 x 288 mm (approx). I normally sell my work in shops and galleries at significantly higher prices than the starting price here but am trying to raise some cash giving you the opportunity to buy something to keep and treasure for years at a bargain price. read more
