Description: "The Annals of Sporting and Fancy Gazette; A Magazine, Entirely appropriated to Sporting Subjects and Fancy Pursuits; Containing every Thing worthy of Remark on Hunting, Shooting, Coursing, Racing, Fishing, Cocking, Pugilism, Wrestling, Single Stick, Pedestrianism, Cricket, Billiards, Rowing, Sailing &c. &c." Vol lI July to December 1822. Printed in London by Sherwood, Neely and Jones 1822. The boards are in poor condition, being loose from the spine of the book and the paper peeling from the boards. They have been held together with sticky tape. The pages are in much better condition, being quite bright despite the age. There is some foxing as you would expect. There are no plates present in this volume, as they have all been taken out some time in the past. Overall, this is a nice reading copy and will be enjoyed by someone interested in reading about the sporting pursuits of gentlemen of the early nineteenth century. The descriptive texts are absorbing. I have tried to photograph the book as best I can so you can determine yourself as to its condition. These volumes have sold for £200 to £300 if in good condition and complete with plates. However, this is not in that state, so I will let the market decide with a low starting price of only £9.99.
