Up for bid is the Annual Register for year 1772. The entire title is "The Annual Register, or a View of the History, Politicks, and Literature of the Year 1772", and it is under the editorship of Sir Edmund Burke. This book is a First Edition. Printed in London. Printed for R. and J. Dodsley in Pall-Mall, 1773.The Annual Register is a volume full of the years major events. These developments include the current conflicts, battles, treaties, and invasions of its time. It also covers laws, religion, economics and some selected poetry and literature. This book was part of a library of an Episcopal Ladies School, which was in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. The school opened in the fall of 1891. However, the school did not last long, as it closed during the school year 1892-93. The inside cover has a yellow sticker which reads "The Laugher Bache Library - Willow Hall School - Wellsboro, Pa.". This volume may have originated from the Lincoln's Inn in London, England. Some other volumes in this set have a stamp reading "Mr Ashhurft - Lincolns Jnn", in old English. It makes sense as Mr. William Bache, (father of Laugher Bache), who donated the land to the Willow Hall School in Wellsboro, had emigrated from England in 1793.
