Anri Monsalvat Chess Set Anri has been world famous for wood carvings of the highest quality. The Anri Monsalvat chess set is carved from 75 years old Alpine maple, air seasoned for about 5 years. The Monsalvat or Knights of the Round Table, king height is 5 and 3/4 inches tall. Each piece is painted with a translucent paint that has been rubbed out to show the grain of the wood on the carvings. Each piece has a felt covered bottom and is placed in a felt lined rosewood box with closure and hinges. Issued date 1966, Year retired 1984. Every piece of wood has a distinctive pattern and is different from the others. Each carving is made from superior wood and no wood carving that leaves the House is identical to another. The sculptures are entirely hand finished with love and precision and are submitted to a quality test to guarantee high standards. The chess set will be well packaged.
