Ansel Adams "El Capitan" Yosemite National Park, California 8x10 Silver Gelatin print drymounted on 16x20 Archival mount board I purchased this is print from the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park. It is a special edition of Ansel Adams negatives printed by Alan Ross and sold at the Ansel Adams Gallery. Initialed on back by Alan Ross AR. Please see photos. Print in pristine 100% condition. Kept in archival bag since purchased. Stored flat, never framed or exposed to light. No separation of the print from the mount board. All edges securely attached to the mount board. Mountboard has no marks, bends, creases or folds. It is as I received it from the Gallery. I was a member of Ansel Adams' group The Friends of Photography in Carmel Calif. in the 1970's. I was fortunate to have been invited into Ansel Adams darkroom twice and to be able to see all of his "secrets". He had three trays of chemicals and a wash tray the same as all photographers have in their darkrooms. The "secrets" were in his brain as the way he previsualized a scene then used his Zone System for exposure and development of the negatives. What a great guy. This is one of the best known of the Ansel Adams special edition prints and is featured in many books. There is no damage to the print, no scratches, and no discoloring as the print was never framed
