This is an EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL 100% ALL ORIGINAL RARE AND UNUSUAL MINT example of an Ansonia Mantle Clock in SUPERIOR, ALL-ORIGINAL condition WITH INLAID WOOD and was made in circa 1890. Ansonia is one of the most respected American Clockmakers, making very high quality clocks for many years. This clock runs great and keeps good time! It is a very classy, mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It has a RARE AND UNUSUAL design. It has the original signed "Ansonia, made in USA " 8 day time and strike movement which chimes on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour on a cathedral gong with a beautiful mellow strike sound that is very pleasant! The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The case is all original and very beautiful! The case has real inlaid wood designs in a beautiful unusual Victorian Style in superior condition. The original dial is signed "Ansonia" and is in superior condition. Very crisp numbers. The clock has an adjustment for slow and fast on the dial (see picture) - this way you don't have to take the clock off the shelf to "fine tune" the timekeeping. The brass around the dial is original. The hands are original. The glass and brass bezel are original and perfect! Original beautiful back door in perfect condition and a catch that works well. The back looks as good as the front! Complete with the original adjustable pendulum (it's a good idea to adjust the time first with the pendulum, and then fine tune it with the adjustment on the dial) and a heavy duty double ended key (one end for the S/F adjustment and the other to wind it with). The clock measures 9 inches high, 5 ½ inches deep and 14 ½ inches wide. This is truly a great clock! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working after nearly 90 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 100 years! I wonder what the maker would think, nearly 90 years later his product is still working like new and listed on the world wide internet! Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment.
