Ansonia Walnut Parlor Clock 'Druid' Circa 1885
is a nice clock that measures 21 1/2 x 13 1/4 inches high with extremely nice case carvings throughout the case, especially on the top, with the twisted rope applications and carvings. The clock has a 4 3/4 inch long ago replaced dial. Other features include a visible pendulum and a nice label on the rear of the case, indicating Prize Awarded in Paris Exposition 1878, with the 'Druid' clock name, see our photos. The clock has an eight day brass signed movement with alarm. This alarm was typically used for cooking, etc., and most of the time this additional movement is taken out of the clock, so this one is still remaining and original. The movement is signed by the Ansonia Clock Company, New York, which could use a good cleaning. One small case trim is lacking on the bottom right side.
