For sale is a lovely copy of "Anthropology: An Introduction to the Study of Man and Civilization." Authored by Edward B. Tylor will illustrations. Published by Macmillan and Co. 1895. This copy was owned by Beatrice, Prinzessin von Coburg. This is a reprinted with corrections in 1889. The binding is brown leather with gilt stamping and five raised bands on the spine. The endpapers have elaborate marbled design. The books has 448 pages. The name plate of Beatrice, Prinzessin von Coburg is on the inside cover. I bought this from auction in New Jersey from a descendent of the Princess. Very interesting past which you can read on Wikipedia. Below is a small excerpt: Princess Beatrice of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Beatrice Leopoldine Victoria; 20 April 1884 – 13 July 1966) was a member of the British Royal Family , a granddaughter of Queen Victoria . She later married into the Spanish Royal Family , and was the wife of Alfonso de Orleans y Borbón , Infante of Spain. She was called "Baby Bee" by her family. There is also an inscription to Beatrice written in pen: To H.R.H. Princess Beatrice ??? Coburg ??? (not sure if full title of Sax Coburg and Gotha) with signature that looks like ???? Newberrys.
