IT IS A LOVELY ANTIQUE GOLD ..THAT BUTTERY HUE WITH JUST A TOUCH OF ROSE GOLD.. and will match both yellow gold and rose gold accessories This style of gold bead necklace is of a high quality as it is strung on the very old style FOXTAIL CHAIN... so it is extremely strong due to the gold links supporting these beads.. this is PERFECT for everyday wear.. and will compliment any clothing.. a beautiful antique that is now quite in fashion ! Please note any dark shadows appearing on the beads are simply reflection only due to its high shine ! HISTORY This is Circa 1920 by design and styling It is stamped on the clasp and end link 12k GF is gold filled. . . It is of a very high quality. Quality Gold Fill jewelry such as this, is considered to be equivalent in quality to todays low karat gold., and wears the same. It is made by MS & Co and this company was reknown for making quality foxtail chains and necklaces. DESCRIPTION & SIZING It is in fabulous condition and although the beads are hollow they are very thick.. It has the rich buttery antique gold color.. with a ligh rose gold hue ..and it has that smooth feel usually associated with solid karat gold . The beads are strung on a foxtail chain , and this makes for a very durable item indeed ! ..and denotes the quality of this piece. The end links and clasp are gold soldered to the chain which is a further sign of a high quality item. .. It measures 15 1/2" in length and the beads are just under 1/4" in size ... It has strength and rigidity due to the foxtail chain, and can be worn 24/7 and it is so shiny but it was hard to capture this brilliance in the pictures. The clasp works wonderfully and is an old O ring locking closure . . It really is exquisite , and will one day become a lovely family heirloom piece. FABULOUS antique condition and it appears to have NEVER been worn. It weighs approx 20 grams which further adds to its appeal ! The photos do not depict its beauty, and they appear brassy in color, ...but it is much much nicer in person ! Please note that while I do try to describe the items to the very best of my ability, all my items are either antique or vintage , so tfore are not brand new.
