Selling is a fabulous antique pendant. The pendant is made with 14K yellow gold, white & green jade and blue glass. The pendant measures 4 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide when it is closed and 2 1/2" wide when opened. The piece weighs 38 grams. The pendant features 2 pieces of carved jade with open work mounted on a heavy frame work of gold. The two pieces open and reveal a stunning gold buddha mounted on a deep colbalt blue glass background. The blue glass has a slightly carved indentation for the buddha. The glass also shows on the back of the pendant where it is raised and has an openwork Chinese character in gold. The 2 piece opening frame work clips in place and has a latch that releases the sides on the back. Both sides stay in place but one side no longer clips in place or is controlled with the latch. The gold is not marked but tests at 14K. The gold work is elaborate and of high quality. There is a textured background adorned with raised flowers and designs. Above the main pendant is a green jade bead and a jade ring. This is a beautiful piece that would make a great addition to your jewelry collection and even looks great to display.
