� � � � � Vintage USSR New Years Tree Toys Beautiful Regional Russian Dolls Complete w/ Box� � � � � � For your consideration is this complete box of dolls from the USSR from the mid 20th century (1950s). � These dolls � are hand made and decorated with silk, wool, yarn, string and paper. � They are all beautifully hand painted and measure between 3 1/2" and 4" tall not including the cellophane. � These are regional dolls and the bottom of each doll has the name of each of the 15 countries. � All but two of them still have their original cellophane wraps. The original packing slip and price tag is also included in this find. � The box shows some wear and has been taped on the corners sometime in the past 60 or so years, but is all intact. Thanks to help of the wonderful Ebay members on the Dolls Forum and a lot of research, I discovered that the label/receipt translates that they are New Year's Tree Decorations. In the Soviet Union, since they did not celebrate Christmas, they celebrated New Years Day with decorating New Years trees. � These dolls were called New Years Tree Toys. � Finding one or two of these is rare, but having the opportunity of finding a complete set with the original box as new old stock is very lucky.
