Multi function ring can be wore as a Emerald ring or a Ruby ring -- simply by flipping the Diamond bands over. Emeralds and Rubies are channel set and I believe are French cut. I also believe the diamonds are millegrained set. Plus, there is ornate engraving on each shank. I bought this ring on December 4th 2001 and it has been sitting in my jewelry box since then. I wore it a few times -- maybe 3 or 4. It's BEAUTIFUL and so much nicer than it appears in the photos I took. I bought this ring on ebay from Heritage Jewellery (Antique, Fine and Estate Jewellery) who is from Lancashire in the UK. I didn't do the screen prints of this auction but have the receipt and the auction item description is on that. The receipt states: 15CT. RUBY/EMERALD/DIAMOND CROSSOVER RING It was ebay item # 1667237978. Here's what I can tell you about the ring from looking at the ring and from what I remember when I bought it. It's two-tone gold - I think it's rose colored gold and white gold -- that's what I remember from the original description and what it looks like to me. The center ring portion is all rose colored gold and the two flip pieces are white gold. All the visible sides of the gold is craved/etched. Some the the craving is fading from wear. Some of the cravings on the white gold is dirty -- I was always too afraid to clean it. There is no stamps anywhere on the ring -- that I can find -- that states what kind of gold (10k or 14k). The hinges all are in great working order. If you look really, really close you can actually see the tiny pins in the hinges. However, I have no clue how they are being held in. There are 13 round diamonds on each of the flip sides - so 26 diamonds in total. They all are there and they have the smallest possible space around them to let light shine through. I have no idea what the cut of the diamonds is but they do sparkle when you move the ring. There are 17 square rubies on one side of the main piece. All the rubies appear to be very secure in the setting. The rubies all set right next to each other. I can't tell if any of the rubies are cracked -- it doesn't look like it to me -- but then again I'm clueless on these type of things. There are 16 emeralds on the other side of band from the rubies. There appears to be one emerald missing -- based on the spacing and how the rubies look in the setting. One of the emerald has a corner missing from it and a couple of others look like they are cracked by still intact. I believe this is a size 7 - maybe a little smaller. The total weight is 8 grams -- that's based on my kitchen/food digital scale. So it might be really 7.6gm or 7.8 grams as my scale only does whole numbers for grams. When I bought the ring I had always intended on getting the stones replaced/repaired and wearing it. But, instead it's been sitting in my jewelry box. It's a stunning ring. You can tell by looking at it that it's old and was very well taken care of. I also have no clue how old it is. I can not be responsible for what my description says -- I have no knowledge of jewelry. I'm not trained in the jewelry business -- I only know what I like and that's the extent of my knowledge. Because of this I can not accept returns or be held responsible for the description or the ring. I will be completely honest about everything I know. I believe this description to be true. Please let me know if you have any questions. This will be shipped in a small USPS flat rate box with insurance. Will ship internationally -- at your cost -- contact me before bidding please. I only accept paypal and payment is due within 3 days.
