Up for bid is a tremendous Identified French and Indian War powder horn with a very neat patriotic motto. When measured around the curve the horn measures just over 9 inches in length. The horn has a wonderful old patina and is in extremely good condition considering it is almost 250 years old. It has some expected wear and a few dings and scrapes, but no cracks or repairs. The horn is engraved as follows: EBENr. WEBSTER CROWN POINT 1759 MY POWDER-BROTHER BALL-CAUSE THE FRENCH TO FALL. T is also some sort of crest engraved into the horn as well. The crest says" Dieu Et Mon Drovt", and features a lion and some sort of horse or unicorn. The craftsmanship that went into making this horn is remarkable. The wooden end cap is held in place by seven hand carved wooden pegs. This powder horn was purchased from a very old Kentucky collection and has not been on the market in several decades. I sold the other horns on eBay last year and had planned on keeping this one for myself because it was in my opinion the nicest. The horn is 100% guaranteed authentic for life and is guaranteed to pass the scrutiny of any reputable American colonial militaria expert.
