5 1/2" Tall x 4 3/4" Wide A great example of a late 17th century candlestick, circa 1690 in great mellowed patina. Nice form with a three orb design shaft and a rare octagon formed screw in base. While it is certainly possible to bring the piece to a shine if one so chose to, we believe the piece looks remarkable in it's current state. The candlestick is circa 1690, either of Spanish or Dutch origin. Similar examples can be seen illustrated in "Antique Brass" by Schiffer Publications. Overall the piece is in very good condition. There several small knicks to the edge of the base, (see photographs) else solid shape with the small areas of knicking typical of age. A great opportunity to purchase a 300+ year old piece of lighting, fresh out of a collection assembled over thirty years ago.
