Antique 17th Century Indo-Persian Riveted Chain Mail CoifDescriptionWe believe this is a 16th Century riveted chain mail coif ( please review all pictures and make your decision to purchase on the information provided, we are not experts in this field )We found this piece to be in overall good condition. * Comprising a central plate at the top of the head attached with particularly small fine riveted link mail * made entirely of iron * Their is a fall to the front and the back center as well as down the nose area from the face opening * The majority of this coif is made of fine small links which maximizes protection * Oval opening for the face, with drop/fall over the forhead and nose area * their are some losses. to the mail where their are missing links * The mail is made of iron/steel and has overall discoloration and rust patination. * quality is fine with tight small links * Weight is a tad over 3 pounds * A fine example of 16th Century, European Riveted, chain-mail * This is not new and is not a reproduction piece. * Pictures were taken on a standard height strofoam wig head.
