We are honored to offer you this fine old antique , rose gold and ruby and seed pearl flower motif, custom made ring, from the latter 1800's! The ring was not marked, as was not at all unusual for the 1880's, but it tests for at least 10 karat gold, and may be 14 karat, which actually, i think it is. I can tell you that the tiny bevy of seed pearls which surround each of the 2 little red round ruby gems are indeed genuine, and i don't know for certain about the rubies, whether they be earth-mined or synthetic. But they are, and t you are, and may the best union of the 2 parties be made! The gems are set in a really neat flower shaped setting...they have scalloped edges, and little heart shaped hollows in which the wee seed pearls are set! Each 'flower' has 8 pearls, for a total of 16! Their hues vary from creamy ivory to pale grey, but all are lustrous and shiny... one flower is set with the more greyish ones, and the other has the more ivory colored ones! The 2 small ruby gems are secured by 6 pointy prongs, characteristic of Victorian pieces. The ring is a size 7- ish..its inner band diameter is 11/16", and the ring weighs 1.3 grams. The top measures 3/8" north-to-south, and the length of the flowers is about 5/8", east-to-west. Then t are nifty tendrils which curl around and also serve to connect the flowers to the band. T are a couple of dings, or dents, on the band, nothing bad , just want to mention for accuracy. The ring is after all, over 100 years old, and the gold is soft. :) T is also some wear to the stones ( rubies), as this was a cherished ring that Madame chose to wear every day, most likely! So if you are attracted to this awesome one-of-a-kind gold ring, with all its wonderful attributes, as well as its minor flaws, then bid! T won't be another one like it!
