I recently acquired a 46 year old large collection of over 600 antique brass, silver, cast iron, wood bells etc. from an Elderly gentleman from Carson City. There are several types of bells from hand bells, call desk bells, church bells, priest/temple bells, gong bells, door bells, cow and other animal bells etc. Many of the bells in this collection are from all over the world and many are rare and hard to find and some bells I have never seen before. Listed here for your consideration is an Antique 1800's-Early 1900's Brass Door Bell. This bell is 9 1/2 inches high from the bottom of the wood base to the top and over 5 inches across and 7 1/4 inches deep. The bell alone is 6 inches tall and 4 inches across and weighs 2 pounds and 2 ounces. When I acquired this bell, the wood was actually primed and painted a light teal green which I do not believe did the bell justice. I spent several hours removing the bell and sanding off the paint and primer and stained it red mahogany. This bell is very clean and fully intact and the bell works and sounds great! A must have for the avid bell collector. Don't let this one get away! Please see photos to determine condition for yourself and email with any questions.
