PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING!!! Solid, well made dovetailed box. Featuring tight, well-fitted dovetails, a chamfered base, a chamfered lid and the use of thick oak boards, true high quality craftsmanship evident throughout! This box is heavy! Boards are each over 1/2" thick! ( 9/16" to be exact ). Nice patina and great size. I hate to part with this box, but new expenses force me to "deaccession" some of my antiques. Box dimensions are 8" wide, 4 3/8" tall and 5" deep. The base is 9 1/2" wide, 5/8" tall and 6 3/4" deep. When factoring in the height of the base, the overall box height is 5". It's barely noticeable, but the lid closes 1-2 millimeters off center (it really is minor, so I mention it only for the sake of full disclosure) . Box has its original hardware (no key), but the top part of the lock mechanism is not attached to the lid (see photos) which is how I bought the box. The photos tell the rest of the story. No refunds, so please ask any and all questions before bidding. Shipping cost is what it is and includes insurance. Despite what is stated in the shipping field below, I may change the shipping carrier or method. If shipping+insurance is substantially less than $15, I'll slip a few bucks into the package.
