Very nice decorative details, and quite well-made, both of which you can see in the pics. Beautiful incising: scrolled shell shape tops the desk, flanked with leafy branches below, and a large cartouche on the front of the desk. Also adorned with long, fluted convex lines, both vertical and horizontal. A perfect embodiment of the Eastlake style! Tons of storage space, with 12 compartments of various shapes and sizes on top, a wide desk drawer below, and below that 2 large drawers and a cabinet (no shelves). A warm, glowing color to the wood - it was refinished at some point prior to 1984. Does not have a key. This desk was bought at an antique store in 1984 in Sacramento, CA.
