This unique antique pewter flagon tankard measures 10" tall to the top of its handle and has been hand engraved with the masonic square and compass as well as the initials G R and the presentation date 1823. The spout is in the shape of a heart and there are two touchmarks on the 3/4" wide applies S shaped handle. The first mark is a crown over crossed swords and the second mark appears to be a a shield with the initials I M H and an eagle?. Since the marks are worn, the marker is unidentified, but the piece dates to the early 1800's possible earlier. This antique flagon is in excellent condition for its age with a small dent to its left side as shown in the photos.
