Antique 1830-1850 3 Door Mahogany Bookcase Mid 19 th Century Bookcase. Measures 61" long, 14-1/2" deep, 53-1/2" tall. Each end has flat Ionic column. Bottom front has apron design with 4 feet. 2 back feet. All the feet have castors. 3 Doors have 1 large piece of original glass in each door. Framed with crotch mahogany veneer. Beveled like an ogee mirror. Original stretch. Original hinges on doors were replaced at some point. Each door has a brass lock and key hole. Shelves in 2 sides of bookcase are 19-1/2" wide. Center shelves are 17-1/2" wide x 12" deep. Front edges of the shelves are beveled. Shelves are all adjustable on metal pins which lift in 4 strips with holes which run down 4 corners of the bookcase. The center section has 4 movable shelves. Each of the side bookcases has 3 shelves each. The shelves are made of solid mahogany so bookcase can be filled, not like some of today's shelving. This would also make a wonderful display for china, silver, or art. This is solid mahogany and tfore is quite a heavy piece of furniture. The top is also wonderful for displaying treasures. This is a great Bookcase that is in excellent condition. Does have some minute chips in veneer along top edge at the front, doesn't really show at all. This can be easily repaired if you want to. One corner in the back also has slight damage, but you can't realty tell, can be restored if you want or left alone. If you need a great bookcase for a period room or library this is a great one. Wonderful piece of furniture. Will be willing to take to UPS Store in Cosackie on Smaller furniture-t will be a 25 dollar charge added to the total price for this. View pictures.
