I am listing a nice group of Various Antique and Americana Items this week. is a Great ORIGINAL 1833 BOSTON FIREMAN DOCUMENT with FINE PENDLETON LITHOGRAPH of THE STATE HOUSE FIRE OF 1832. This Fireman Immunity Certificate is Manuscript Dated "JUNE 12, 1833" and appears to be Signed by Boston Mayor CHARLES WELLS (b.1786-1866/ Mayor 1832-33) as well as the City Clerk. The Certificate is for "...EBENEZER W. MARSH for having served seven successive years in the Fire Department of the City of Boston..." . Massachusetts Entrance Date of 1833 for the Lithograph along bottom of document. Great Document! Paper is 21" x 16". The only other Copy of this Lithograph/Document I could find for sale was for a Copy with a much later date and signatures of 1884 filled in the spaces priced at $750. My Document was issued in the First Year of it's publication! Possibly very rare. The Lithograph Image itself is actually an Image of the STATE HOUSE FIRE IN BOSTON which took place a year before this document was printed in 1832. Robert Salmon was the original artist of image. Great Historic Boston and Firefighting Image! Document is in pretty nice condition with worst cosmetic problem being a rather mild brown spot to the left of the illustration. Several mild scuff lines in lower portion. Otherwise overall good-looking. T is a 1-1/4" long tear line read more
