Large antique silverplate Soup Ladle with the maker's mark on the back of the handle: 1835 R. Wallace A1; PAT JULY 16 '07. It is richly patterned in the "Cardinal" design, manufactured until the 40's, then discontinued. (New info.) Size is 12 1/4" long and the bowl of the ladle is 3 7/8" across. No monogram or plate loss. The lovely patina shows some surface scuffs and lines on the bowl from generations of gentle use. This great looking soup ladle is very hard to find and has heirloom appeal. A solid piece by Wallace Silver.
