This is a wonderfully old Holy Bible with Old and New Testaments, printed at Oxford at The University Press in 1851. Roman numerals are M.DCCC.L1.; a 162 year old Bible. The Bible is tooled leather. The metal clasps are in very good condition, showing very little wear. Sadly, the last 2 photos will show the wear on the Bible. The front leather cover and inside cover page are loose from the book, and can be reattached by a professional. There is scuffing and worn edges on the leather. The first several pages and last several pages have some worn edges and folded or torn corners, not at all destroying any of the printing. The other pages are all in good condition with only a light browning around edges of pages. Very good, dark print and the pages are NOT brittle, making this book very easy to read. It is in really good condition considering that this Bible is so old and still so very readable. This is a true Pulpit Bible, no family or photograph pages. It was for the pulpit or for reading at home.The size is approximately 11" x 8" x 1-1/2" thick and weighs about 8 pounds. I will only ship this Bible by USPS Priority.
