This is a rare 1867 Milton Bradley Zoetrope. It is one of the larger sizes that were available and one of the earliest. It measures approximately 7 3/4" X 10". The base is wooden and in excellent condition. The wheel or cylinder is made of a heavy cardboard type of material (similar to what they made the victorian cabinet photos out of). It has various bends and creases in the cylinder as well as black tape around the top edge (right below the metal rim) and one small piece of clear tape on the side (see photos). Even with this relatively minor damage, the drum is complete and finding one of these in ANY condition is rare, let alone one that is complete. This comes with 6 two sided reels that are all covered in heavy tape, and a couple are missing pieces from the end (again, please see photos). All in all this is an incredibly rare old piece and in surprisingly good condition.
