CASE: This is a quality fantastic solid 18k gold astounding watch case. The case is in near mint condition. This case must have been a fortune to buy in Edwardian times. W do I start? It is honed from good quality solid 18k gold, and is hall marked on the inside of the case with Swiss hallmarks for 18k. It is engine turned to the middle, and has a beautiful flower and leaf design running all around the case edge. The case back hinge is in excellent condition, and snaps shut nice and tightly onto the case. The bezel has a wonderful and most beautiful, coin edging designâe(tm) engraved into the gold. T is also the most exquisite gorgeous deep Royal blue guilloche and gold enamel work to the center of the case back. It is in excellent condition, showing only slight enamel loss. The enamel work is beautiful, and directly inlaid into the center of the case back. The cartouche has no engravings and is in excellent condition. The color shows no fade with age, which I find remarkable! This is a work of art in timepiece form, which is in excellent condition. The case measures 3.7cms (37mm) in diameter excluding the crown. The watch, movement and solid gold bow brooch weigh 39.0 grams. DIAL: This fantastic timepiece has an absolutely beautiful bright white enamel dial, which is in as close to mint condition as you can get. The dial has very rare sharp, crisp Roman black hand painted numerals which show no wear. What a stunning dial this is! The hands are golden steel spade design, and are in near mint condition. T is also a black painted outer minute track around the outside edge of the dial, which is also in mint condition. T are no chips, scratches or hairline cracks to this dial, it is in excellent condition. The crystal looks like new and is also in mint order. MOVEMENT: This is a pristine and clean Swiss made gilt signed movement. It has stunning minty steel screws. The watch is running extremely well, and winds and sets smoothly. It is key wound and set, and is in excellent operating condition. The watch has kept great time as tested over a 12-hour period, but as with all antique timepieces, a service would be required for optimum performance. The crown is gold and is in mint condition. The chain ring is also solid gold. BOW BROOCH: This delightful and beautiful fob watch is complete with a stunning solid 9k gold ribbon design brooch/pin. The brooch is designed into the shape of a ribbon bow, and is in near mint condition. It is hall marked for solid 9k gold in two places, and has a solid gold dog clip to attach to the watch. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming. Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000-mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
