1880s Antique Platform Rocking Chair
This Victorian style item is circa 1880 and is sometimes referred to as a "Charleston" style rocker. Exceptional working condition. What a lovely accent piece to any elegant room! Excellent medium-sized rocker.
I have been told by a dealer that he believes this to be a "Hunzinger" brand chair, but I can find no mark to indicate such. If not, it is identical in age and style.
Amazingly, included are the original double-springs and front metal wheels. All original wood - although unsure of type, it is a lighter wood stained dark. In the well used areas, the stain has worn through to expose a lovely light patina.
Upholstery may have been replaced many years ago, and shows signs of wear of a well-loved chair. Fabric is a light blue heavy durable upholstery with pink and gold brocade trim.
