Payment ANTIQUE 1883 MECHANICAL BANK "EAGLE & EAGLETS" NO RES
Out of a local home comes 2 antique mechanical banks. Both will be listed on Ebay today. Both are original, not reproductions.

This auction is for the bank called "EAGLE AND EAGLETS". The bank works like this. Under the adult eagle is a snake. When you press down on the snakes head the eagle bends forward and simultaneously the baby eagles open their mouth to receive the "food". The large eagle then deposits the coin it is holding in it mouth into a coin slot in front of the chicks. Very neat.

On the bottom of the base is "PATD JAN 23 1883.

The condition of the bank is good overall. T are no broken pieces and the mechanism works fine. The base has most of its original , although faded colors. The bottom of the large eagle also maintains most of its original paint. The top of the eagle the paint has all but oxidized away. The bottom of the bank also has most of its original paint and its original coin plug or stopper.

A nice antique mechanical bank in original as-found condition. T is no reserve.
