It has metal clasps on the end. Inside near the middle there are family history pages including...Bond of Holy Matrimony, Marriages, Births, Deaths, Memorandum, & Family Temperance Pledge. certificate page. In the back there are 2 heavy cardboard pages to put those antique tin type photos. There are also some pages with colored and black and white Religious scenes. Cover page reads.....The Parallel Bible The HOLY BIBLE, Containing THE AUTHORIZED AND REVISED VERSIONS of the OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS, ARRANGED IN PARALLEL COLUMNS; The Text Conformable to that of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Book is becoming loose and some of the pages are starting to separate from the binding. Looks like the bible was stored in a damp/wet place. Pages have rippling and some almost look like water staining. None of the pages are stuck together and can all be read clearly. There is also some bleeding from images inside the bible onto other pages. There are a few small tears on the edge of a few pages and some of the blank "tissue paper" pages in front of image pages are torn & ripped. There is typical wear to the leather considering its age.
