Antique German "Mabel" Doll Up for auction today is a beautiful German doll marked Mabel 11/0 & a very small Germany on the lower edge of the shoulder plate. It is 11 inches tall with what I believe is its original hair (however, I am not a doll person so I will leave that determination up to you), fixed open eyes and open mouth. The head is perfect with no cracks or chips. There is a tiny chip in the front on the shoulder plate edge. The right hand has a small chip to tip of the index finger and to the tip of the little finger. The leather body is in good condition the joints at the hip and the knees are not damaged. The arms have been roughly sewn onto the shoulder plate. The long cotton dress came with this doll but I do not know if it is original. I would guess not since it is mostly hand sewn. The gathering of the skirt was machine sewn but I believe all of the rest is hand sewn. Please email me with any questions.
