Must be because of that pretty tea dress she's wearing!This is one of the finer of COD molds, the 1896; often sold by Borgfeldt, the 1896 was used for a variety of dolls. This is a particularly fine example, with her original fine kid leather torso body with beautifully done composition hands and gored feet- none of it restored in the slightest-- remarkable, given its age.This nice, larger sized cabinet girl has a darling face, quite finely and delicately modeled. Of note are her highly arched and very full auburn brows, and her beautiful blue antique original paperweight working sleep glass eyes, nicely matched in a gorgeous shade of greyblue! She has long painted lower lower lashes, good, bright cheek blush, and well painted, parted light coral bow lips with fine white inset teeth- and look at that elegant nose, slightly upturned!
