This is an Antique 1893-1907 Thewalt Prosit "Toast" 0.5L German Pewter Lidded Beer Stein Made in Germany.Condition: The stein is in excellent condition and has no chips, cracks or repairs. The bottom of the stein has an impressed Thewalt mark used from 1893-1907 and consists of a triangle and the wavy cross of a T. The bottom is also marked with the letter E and the faint mark of either an S or G. The back of the stein is numbered 132 between the loop of the handle and above is marked 0.5L . The ornamental pewter lid is in great condition and has no dents, scratches or other damages or repairs. The pewter lid is unmarked and free of any labels. The stein is in good vintage condition with little paint loss, fading or crazing and shows very little signs of use or wear.Description: The stein was made from glazed stoneware and produced by Thewalt under modeler Wilhelm Kamp sometime between 1893 and 1907. The front of the stein features a red and blue floral fleur de lis design and centered in the middle has the word Prosit! (which translates as "Toast" or "Cheers") in red lettering. The top is trimmed in a beautiful green leaf relief band with a thick blue band below and a thicker one above with two thinner bands. The same pattern is mirrored on the bottom of the stein.
