First there was the push bike and then the ordinary and now your chance to own one of the first pneumatic tire human powered vehicle a well preserved 1897 Yost Falcon step through safety bike. Frame and all components are made of the best quality steel and this bike is very light weight at only about 25 pounds less the tires. Bike is in exceptional restorable condition with just some light surface rust to be expected and retains 99% of the original paint. The original red brass 1897 Flying Falcon head badge is sweet! All nickel plated parts could be easily re-plated with no pitting. Bent wood chain guard and rear fender can be fitted with string lacing for a skirt guard. This is a fixed gear skip tooth with a heavy chain and spoon front brake. A nice example of an early pneumatic tire safety bike with all components and hardware still intact greased and free moving. This could be a rider with just rims and tires! (25" diameter wood rims) rear 36 spoke, front 28 spoke. Cork grips are saddle padding are long gone . Add new wood rims and cork grips for a "patina" restoration, or go all out with new paint and nickel! Either way, this is the perfect original unmolested 115 year old bike to work with!!!
