I am offering this fine antique, exquisite, 18 karat white gold diamonds and sapphire pendant lavaliere necklace, from my personal collection. It breaks my heart to give it up, but with a new grandchild, our first, due to enter this world on the Winter Solstice, i am needing to get some funds raised to help my daughter and her husband get situated, after their move to Maine! This wonderful old necklace dates to the Edwardian era, and i just got it back from my jeweler, who confirmed the marks and measured the larger diamond, for an accurate description! ( he wanted it himself, so i take that as a good sign! ) The lavaliere is just so gorgeous, with the intricate filigree work; t is a flower in the design, with the sparkling, fiery, 1/3 carat diamond set in its face! T are 9 small faceted bright blue genuine sapphires set around in various places - 2 are up in the detailed bale, and t is also another small mine cut diamond at the bottom of the bale! For a reason we can only speculate on, someone put a 14 karat gold filled chain on the necklace at some point. The chain works fine, but you might one to replace it with a white gold one . The pendant alone weighs 2.4 grams , and it is marked '750' on back. 750 is the European standard mark for 18 karat gold, so this necklace was probably crafted in Europe or Britain.
The pendant part measures a tad over 1 3/4" long ( 1 13/16" ) , and it is 3/4" in width at its widest part. This is also w t are 4 small square sapphires, channel set, 2 on each side. Above the larger .33 carat diamond, which measures 4 mm across, t are 3 triangular sapphires , bezel set . The remaining 2 sapphires are in the bale, as previously mentioned. I hope my pictures allow you to see the fine millgrained detail on every single edge in the spectacular piece. My jeweler said he could really appreciate, as a member of the craft, the time it took someone to do all of this fine work. To protect my investment, i am placing a reserve of 199 on this necklace, but it is worth much more! Know that your investment will be a wise one ! Please feel free to write with any questions, and thank you for your interest! p.s. insurance will be required on this purchase..., to protect us both! )
