Antique 18th C. French Faience Veuve Perrin Platter DESCRIPTION: This is a very rare, late 18th century Veuve Perrin (Marseilles, France) faience PLATTER, the shaped border edge handpainted with floral bouquets, flanked on either end with majolica vine branches. The well is completely hand-painted with a figural landscape scene depicting a group seated at a table enjoying the day, while a female figure drawing water from a well. The background is beautifully painted, depicting country architecture and distant mountains. Truly a masterpiece that should be in a museum. NO RESERVE!! Thank you for bidding ;o) Please have a look at my other great estate finds this week! SI ZE: 19" x 15 3/4" MARKS: The scene is signed "E. Duerocq". Reverse is marked in blue underglaze with "VP" representing Veuve Perrin. CONDITION: Very good; some minor glaze cracquelure to one side. SHIPPING: To Canada and the United States - $15.50 (tracked and insured); International - Calculated.
