Todd always focused on original surface and color, so we were able to pick us some real gems! All of the items we have acquired will be listed over the next week, so be sure to check back daily! There are even a few rare and unique items that we are super excited to share with you, so you don't want to miss out! In this auction we have an antique Scottish arts & crafts mission hand hammered brass planter/vase/jardiniere. In the Glasgow or Margaret Gilmour school. It is in a square shape on all four sides have a lovely rose-like floral pattern with a rippled-like background. The brass has a nice outside shine to it, like it has been polished. It is unmarked and measures approx. 8 1/2" square by 6 3/8" high. There is some age appropriate wear with scuffs and scratches throughout, oxidation inside throughout, and a bend to one of the corner rims. Margaret Gilmour (1860-1942) established a studio with her sisters at 179 West George Street, Glasgow, in 1893, which traded for 50 years producing works in brass, pewter, embroidery, leatherwork, ceramics, wood-work and paintings.
