NO RESERVE...............................................................................Estate Sale item..............This auction is for a nice old Wood Tool or Instrument Chest , measuring approx. 17 in. long , 8 3/4 in. wide , and about 12 in. high . I am not positive on the wood used, but it looks to me to be made of oak. T is no manufacture marking on the Chest, but it wood have likely been made in the early 1900s . T is a pencil marking on the bottom of one of the drawers , that reads " J Johnson 1924 " , which is likely a previous owner . The inside useable depth of all the draws is approx. & in. The original lock on the front panel has been taken off, and a brass hasp latch installed. T are a couple of piece to the original lock , with the chest, in a drawer , but it is not all t T is one pull drawer handle missing on the very top left drawer , and replaced with a different pull. All the Drawers are solid , tight , and square , but the felt like linings show wear from use. The front wood panel on the chest, can be completely removed from the chest , or it can be slipped into a bottom area on the chest for storage. The exterior of the Chest has many small nicks and bruise , but I think still looks great, and is tight, solid , and sturdy . The leather surface on the carry handle has worn away in spots, but is still solid and sound . The deepest drawer is approx. 2 5/8 in. , and the shallowest drawer is about 3/4 in. deep . It's a great old Chest for anyone to store almost anything that fits . Shipping on this item only to the U.S.A. and Canada . Please ask all your questions before you bid.
