1904 EAPG green souvenir State Fair cup. If you don't like stories skip the next three paragraphs. Maybe I mislead you slightly in the subtitle, but not really. Nellie is most likely dead at this point. And it was MY mother-in-law who dug up the cup, not Nellie's...we don't even know Nellie. Back in the early 1960's, my mother-in-law and her husband lived on the shores of Cedar Lake in Kenwood, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The sun was always shining, glimmering off from the lake. One day my mother-in-law was in the woods near their home and for some reason she was digging. The birds were warbling. "Why were you digging?" I asked. "For the life of me I can't remember," she said. Anyway, CLINK ...the spade struck something. It wasn't a rock. It was this green glass of Nellie's, a souvenir, probably of the Minnesota State Fair. Why was it buried? Only Nellie knows. Why was it dug up? Bernice can't recall. Why are we selling it? It is time to sell. Perhaps Nellie's relatives will see this, or her children, maybe Nellie herself...if you are alive, Nellie, I'm sorry for teasing you. This green glass stands just over 2 1/4 inches tall. Running fingers around the rim in both directions yields no chips, no cracks, no nicks...amazing when you think the spade hit it. The diameter of the rim is 2 5/8 inches. The handle is firmly seated into the body of the cup. We washed the glass with soap and water. T are some dusky marks, but they may come out with some more serious scrubbing. The one side of the cup is etched, inscribed with one word, Nellie -- The other side of the cup is inscribed State Fair 1904 . The zero is slightly fainter than the rest of the inscription. Examining the glass under the microscope shows no serious flaws. T are slight scuffing type marks seemingly consistent with being buried and its age. One last thing ...the photos taken on the white surface and in the grass were before the object was washed. The remaining photos are after the washing. No reserve Shipping weight is 13 ounces. Package size is 10" x 7" x 7". Research shipping rates if you like at .
