This is a very rare pen produced in 1918. Search yields lots of ads seeking salesmen to pedal this amazing invention, the inkless pen. Per the instructions included, the pen works with ink sticks (one is in the nib) that, when dipped in liquid, produces ink for writing. It also states that there are more sticks if the cap is removed, however I have not removed the cap. Not being a pen collector, I have refrained from cleaning it or taking it apart. The nib is marked 14k gold plate. The pen is marked American Inkless War Pen Pat. Pend. It appears to have never been used. I believe this is a very important addition to a comprehensive pen collection.
