This is a beautiful vintage 1930's PERIWINKLE or HUMMINGBIRD hand pieced,hand stitched quilt from an old Seattle estate of elderly lady who was a nurse in WWII, it came from her family over 80 years ago,shown on full bed measures 90" x 62" .It is made from cotton multicolored multipattern patchwork fabric and is in very good condition,no soiling or odors,it has some age yellowing that just needs a soaking,one brown circular spot as shown.The patchwork triangle pieces are hand pieced, I see a few that have age wear,not detracting,some of the border edge has wear ,just mentioned for accuracy .It has scalloped edges bordered by hand stitched ivory fabric.I am not a quilt expert so invested in quilt book to find patterns VINTAGE QUILTS BY AUG,NEWMAN AND ROY this quilt is shown on pg 183 named PERIWINKLE with price of 300 - 400.oo .It has 8 sided octagon pieces hand sewn in between each colored pattern,very attractive and would be an asset to any antique quilt top collection.Batting is intact,not lumpy,the backing is ivory cotton material also very good,no holes .It weights 4 lbs without packing box.Selling as found with no reserve.
