The ear button is missing, but the steering mechanism and the working pull ring growler is pre-war. There are similar Steiff Elephant Ride-Ons that are from the mid-20 th century, but the steering is different. Each white rubber wheel measures 4 ¼” in diameter. Overall the elephant measures 24” long by 21” tall and it is in original unrestored condition. We have posted close-up photographs so you can see the light wear at the top, just from use and the elephants tail is missing. The very large majority of this antique Steiff Mohair Elephant is perfect and clean and to make sure that it makes into some eBayer’s collection there is no reserve.
