ANTIQUE 1936 PHILCO MODEL 60 SUPERHETERODYNE TABLETOP TUBE RADIO EXQUISITELY DETAILED CATHEDRAL DESIGN MADE IN U.S.A AM AND SHORT WAVE BANDS LOOKS AND WORKS GREAT 74 YEARS OLD This beautiful finely crafted collectible ANTIQUE 1936 PHILCO MODEL 60B CATHEDRAL DESIGN SUPERHETERODYNE FIVE (5) TUBE TABLETOP RADIO has a great appearance and is in great working condition, does have one small chip in the veneer on the top at the back edge. This is the third cabinet style used for the popular 60 Baby Grand and was introduced in June 1935 as part of Philco’s 1936 line. It is distinguishable from its predecessor. The introductory price was $29.95. This unique radio plays on the AM and Short Wave Bands, has the original power cord, face plate, bakelite knobs, has great volume control, and appears to have been restored at some point in its life. The exterior wood cabinet is finished in a rich medium oak finish with two distinct stain colors, shows almost no wear and has a consistent color that accents the beautiful grain on the wood. Please pay special attention to the extensive detail of the wooden cabinet, as the pictures do not due this great piece of radio history justice. The cabinet’s distinctive design is reminiscent of the bygone era of when radios were considered a piece of fine furniture. Please note the original decal is still read more
