Up for sale today is a truly rare and beautiful piece of American craftsmanship! We have a pair of beautiful 1937 solid Aluminum and Bakelite mortuary / funeral parlor candle holders, with MATCHING prayer bench ends! They were made by Holland Brass Works in Chicago, and are original! The candle holders are about 41.5 inches tall, that's nearly 3 1/2 foot tall! They look to be in GREAT shape for their age! No rust on the metal, no chips or cracks in the Bakelite. The nut on the bottom has rusted, but there's no way to know unless you physically tip over the holder and look. They are VERY clean and well taken care of!The candle holders come apart in 3 easy pieces to be transported easier. They just twist apart and back together, no screws or nuts. They're very beautifully made with an 'engraved' look to them, decorating the base and up the candle holder. The candle holders and prayer bench ends have matching patterns and Bakelite. A set like this is almost impossible to come by.The prayer bench ends seem to be missing the actual bench parts, sadly. Though I'm sure something could be made to replace it. They're still extremely rare to find and combined with the candle holders would make for a beautiful set.The candle holders are both marked on the bottom, the prayer bench looks unmarked but obviously matches. These came from an old church in read more
