Up for your consideration is this very cool looking old antique RCA Victor bakelite midget tube AM radio in good working condition. The model number on this little gem is 45X2 & it was produced in the 1940 era. The cabinet is all original & it is made of bakelite or thick plastic. The ivory color painted cabinet is original from the factory that shines nicely & in very good condition with no cracks or repairs except there are few extremely small chips in the paint. I have taken many pictures so you may get a good looking at this amazing looking & working radio.The AM dial scale is in excellent condition with good graphics including a working dial light. The 2 little brown control knobs are in great condition. There is no back panel on this radio which is kind of a good thing as this allows the heat from the tubes to escape easier which is a very good thing.The chassis is in good condition & it is a all American 5-tube unit with 2 controls & both controls are in good working condition.The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all paper/wax capacitors have been replaced & a new electric cord has been installed. This radio has been restored to great working condition. There is no internal antenna system, a long external wire has been attached & this wire must be stretched out in one direction or another "right/left/up/down" to receive the best reception.When this amazing & cool looking RCA is powered up, it pulled in AM stations around that nice dial scale & played them nicely with plenty of volume in my area.This is a very nice looking radio that would be an excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it's power & beauty will be the talk of the room by all whom enter .This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology "unlike modern day solid state radios" can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV'S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires/lines above your home, etc... So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. Some tube radios are directional meaning you "may" have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best AM reception. Tube radios usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they start playing as the tubes have to warm up.The approximate size of this little gem is 8-1/2" long & 4-1/2" wide & 5" high. I would "ESTIMATE" the shipping cost to be around $17.95 plus or minus a couple dollars (depending on your location) INSURED & mailed in the USA.
